(No Ratings Yet)How can you get a shot like this one? Hours of photoshop? Tons of enhancements? Naa. Grab a good lens (Sigma 24/70 love you darling) and remember the lesson number one of close ups. A pure exercise of techinque, no brain shot, school picture, probie image, as you prefer. Lens wide open, very very close (ouch they hurt!) and pretty fast shutter speed -f/2.8 1/200. The result is a terrific detailed shot and a very good blur. That’s the recipe to turn a simple rose in your grandma garden into a good picture.

My photography has evolved over the years. I've gone from wild post-processing experimentation with Photoshop toward a more classic approach.
As my best teacher, Joe McNally, says, it's all about the Moment it Clicks. I still use post processing but just white balance and curves adjustments, trying to do my best to get a clean shot and forget about digital monitor work. I always remember one thing. Light is the most powerful tool i have.
