Equipment

Camera Bodies:

Canon EOS 400D ; Not the top of the line but it has got all i need to make beautiful shots. If you make bad shots with a normal camera they’ll still be bad with a great one.

Canon EOS 350D ;  Stolen after my wonderful coast to coast adventure throughout the Route 66 in 2006. If you’re interested you can find all the old equipment on the US black matket. Anyway, just one hint, if you’ll ever go to Santa Barbara never visit Lake Casitas, trust me…

Lenses:

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX AF DG Macro ;  Stunning zoom lens, my favourite one for weddings and basically for everything else.

Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC ; Very nice all in one lens, great for panoramas

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM ; Sheer bloody brilliance!

Canon EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 III ; A old lens. Old fashioned good building, nice backup and very light too.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 ; Aka bottom of the empty bottle. Anyway this little friend helped me many many times.

Accessories:

Canon BG-E3 Vertical Grip/Battery Holder for EOS Digital Reflex

Canon Speedlite – 430EX Flash II Speedlite Shoe-Mount

Manfrotto # 055 ; A 30 years old tripod. Heavy as a bear. And a fat one. Wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

Lots of Cokin and polarizing filters ; You’ll never know!

Canon RC-1 Wireless Remote Control ; Small, light, inexpensive and highly useful.

Lowepro Mini Trekker AW

Lowepro Rezo 120 AW

I’ve always been a “Canonian” since the beginning of my passion, Canon seems to be willing to innovate more and basically it’s my favourite for three other majors reasons:

1. High ISO noise control and image quality. Canon pics just look better in my opinion.

2. Lenses and accessories. Canon has an unbeatable world class line up.

3. Auto Focus is just way better. Canon got all the sports shooter business in the 1990s because of their superior AF system.

But really, gear is the smallest part of the aesthetic equation, a very, very small part. A talented photographer with a kodak fun will make better photos then most of the owners of a 5000$ camera.  So, go to the shop, try what fits best in your hands and begin to shoot. You need to spend time thinking about that.
